About Chris
Chris Rogers sprung up from a small town in rural Ohio. When asked at the age of 5 what she wanted to be, she quickly said “an artist.” She sold her first painting to a gallery at the age of 18. While her work can be serious in nature, she has a sense of humor in her work as well. A combination of abstract, abstract expressionism, punk, and comic-style illustration, her work is filled with brilliant colors and deep thoughts expressed with a bit of humor. Often described as cutting-edge, disturbing, and raw, her work is never without the expression of truth. Chris often uses her artwork to question society’s values, beliefs and systems. She is an artist driven by passion, not wanting to simply create art, but to challenge the status quo. Her vibrant and often chaotic pieces are filled with emotion, and are usually inspired by real-life events or her own personal experiences. By using a variety of mediums and techniques, Chris brings to life her own unique and colorful perspective on the world.
This passion and energy are clearly reflected in her artwork. Her abstract works are often composed of colorful and raw layers, each one carefully chosen to communicate her own story. By bringing together a variety of elements, Chris is able to create a powerful and dynamic art form that speaks to the viewer on a deeper level. Through her art, she hopes to inspire others to think differently and challenge the status quo.
A collector once described her work as such, “You don’t just look in the mountain and say oh that’s pretty. I think I’ll paint it.”
